Menicare Plus
MeniCare Plus is an all-in-one, multi-purpose lens solution for RGP (hard contact lenses) which fulfils the high expectations of all RGP lens wearers. Maximum comfort can be achieved with MeniCare Plus by enhancing wettability and reducing lens deposits to keep your rigid contact lenses clean and comfortable to wear. Keeping your lenses sparkly clean is also important for your eye health and minimising the risk of infection. We liken Menicare Plus to the dishwashing liquid you use to clean your dishes each night.
Menicare Progent
The value pack includes Menicon Progent which is a simple, easy to use, protein remover, disinfectant and intensive cleaner compatible with all rigid contact lenses. Each 30 minute soak is effective against all the organisms likely to contaminate lenses; including bacteria, moulds, yeasts, viruses and Ancanthamoeba trophozoites and cysts; in addition to removing protein deposits from the surface of your lens. Best used monthly or fortnightly depending on instructions from your Optometrist. We liken Progent to a “turbo clean” or the intensive dishwasher clean on your lenses (compared to the daily handwashing up with MeniCare Plus every other night).
Inside the bulk value pack you will find one box of Progent which contains treatments
It is designed as an additional treatment to daily Menicare Plus cleaning. We liken Progent to the weekly cycle in the “dishwasher” in addition to the daily “handwash” you give your rigid lenses with Menicare Plus solution after each wear. By adding this strong and rapid disinfection “turbo clean” into your weekly regime, you can expect improved comfort from your sparkly clean rigid lenses.
We warn all patients to please remove your plush new bath towels, and your favourite clothes as Progent can stain fabrics, and please avoid contact with skin, hands, face and definitely your eyes!
Lens Storage Cases
Also included in the value pack are these awesome lens cases. The clear canister cases store your lenses in a gentle holder (like a plate rack in the dishwasher) to allow the cleaning fluid to circulate properly around the contact lenses. The right and left lenses are in separate compartments for hygiene and the cap are labelled with a “R” and “L” and they are color coded. The clear canister cases also help with the care of your rigid lenses by preventing scratches as lenses are not dragged from the case after cleaning. If you are accustomed to a flat disc like contact lens case, you would be used to dragging the lenses up the side of the case to remove your lenses ready for application on the eyes. This motion scratches the delicate front surface of your lenses. A canister case allows you to gently handle your lenses and lift them out of the case carefully. This prevents front surface scratches which can bind more deposits making it harder to keep your lenses clean, and less comfortable to wear.
