Custom EyeCare is located in the ‘cafe strip’ on Newcastle’s Darby Street, opposite Longbench on Darby cafe, and next door to Darby Street Quality Meats (butchers). We’re in the building that’s set back from the street – many people remember it as either the former ‘Jenny Craig’ or ‘Antique shop’ building!
Car Parking at Custom Eyecare’s New Home from July 2015 – Darby Street Newcastle
Darby Street is a popular location, so please plan ahead and allow time before your appointment to find a parking space. We do have four dedicated private car spaces for your use, right at our front door – drive in off Darby Street, and the four spaces closest to our front door are reserved for our clients while enjoying our service – look for the signs.
If all four spaces are taken, you can often find a space on Darby Street itself – be sure to check street signs for time limits, as they do vary depending on just which part of Darby Street you park on. We do suggest you allow at least an hour for your eye examination appointment – we’d rather do a thorough job, and don’t want to “rush” you through.
Don’t forget there is also a free two hour council car park right behind the Delany hotel – the two entrances are the laneway next to Mon’s Thai restaurant, just a few metres from our own driveway, and also down Council Street behind the Delany hotel. Please be aware that Newcastle council does regularly patrol this car park (and the street) so keep your eye on the time!
For the sake of others, we do ask that you avoid leaving your car parked in our car spaces after your consultation at Custom Eyecare is over – this way our other clients also have a chance of enjoying convenient parking at our door.
